Obituary

BATH – Joseph N. Day, 93, of 89 Bluff Road, died at a local hospital unexpectedly Thursday.

Mr. Day was born at Arrowsic, Sept. 22, 1874, son of Philip W. and Adeline B. Hodges Day.

He operated a farm at Woolwich for several years and was a store proprietor at Winnegance for ten years.  He moved to East Brunswick where he operated a poultry farm, retiring in 1958, when he moved back here.

He was a member of the Sons of the Union Veterans of the Civil War and a Silver Start member of West Bath Grange.

Surviving besides his wife, Mrs. Ila Woodfield Day, are two sons, Stewart H. of Largo, Fla. and Robert N. of Fort Pierce, Fla., one step-daughter, Mrs. Francis V. Day of Bath; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and the great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday from the Arthur F. Mayo & Son Funeral Residence, 819 High St., with the Rev. Lewis Beckford officiating.  Burial will be in the family lot in Riverside Cemetery, Woolwich.
