Obituary

South Windsor – Frank E. Small, 71, who came here 24 years ago from Bowdoin and operated a farm, died at this home on the Rockland road here tonight after six weeks of failing health.

He was born in Bowdoin April 23, 1872, the son of Baccheus and Evelyn J. (Cole) Small and leaves besides his wife, the former Alice Dunton, four sons, Lawrence F., Sout Windsor; Elbridge N., Bowdoin; Erland E., Gardiner; and Staff Sgt. Stanley M. Small who was recently wounded on Luzon; two daughters, Mrs. Frank Costa, San Francisco, Calif., and Mrs. Norman Nilsen, Portland; six grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Elbridge Mains, Malden, Mass.; and Mrs. Augusta Noyes, Augusta, and several cousins.

He is a past department commander of the Sons of Union Veterans and a member of Camp 93 of Coopers Mills.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

South Windsor – Funeral services for Frank E. Small will be held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock at his home on the Rockland Road in South Windsor.
