Obituary
Kennebunk, Aug. 25 – J. Warren Phinney, 83, a retired Westbrook paper mill employee, died in a local convalescent home here today after a long illness.
A native of Westbrook, he was born Dec. 14, 1876 [sic; s/b 1866], son of William and Harriet Phinney. He worked for many years for the S. D. Warren Company in Westbrook until his retirement in 1935. He came here ot live 10 years ago. He was a member of Wade Camp, Sons of Union Veterans; Warren Phillips Lodge, F&AM, and of York and Scottish Rites Bodies, and Presumpscot Lodge, Knights of Pythias, Westbrook.
His wife, Mrs. Lottie Elwell Phinney, died in 1926. He leaves two cousins, Miss Nellie B. Warren, Cornish, and Ross Warren, North Conway, N.H.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at 795 Main Street, Westbrook. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
