Edmond N. Butler, 86, a resident of 5 Grove St., died Tuesday morning at a Waterville hospital following a long illness. He was born in Waterville, Jan. 12, 1900, son of Hugh and Annie (Nadeau) Butler.
He was educated in Waterville schools. He had been an electrician all his life. He was a former member of the Waterville Fire Department for many years, and had been with Hose Co. 2. He was also past commander, past secretary, and past treasurer of the Sons of Union Veterans.
A daughter, Evelyn Pooler, died in 1985.
He is survived by his wife, Leona (Cochran) Butler of Waterville; one granddaughter, Pamela Merrill of Waterville; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Veilleux Funeral Home, 8 Elm St.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Notre Dame Church.
