Obituary

Leon J. Cole, Electrician For City, Dies

The death of Leon J. Cole, 63, Bangor, occurred suddenly Tuesday afternoon in a local hospital.  Mr. Cole was stricken at this home at Pine Point, Pushaw lake, and died a short while after being taken to the hospital.

Born in Bangor, he had resided here throughout his lifetime.  He had been employed by the City of Bangor for 32 years, and had been city electrician since 1953.

A veteran of World War I, he was prominent in local veterans affairs for a number of years.  He was a past department commander of GAR Sons of Union Veterans and the present commander of Daniel Chaplin Camp No. 3, Sons of Union Veterans.  He also was an honorary member of the Cooties.

Surviving are his wife, Louise; a daughter, Mrs. Cynthia Eldridge of Bangor; a sister, Mrs. Albert Mason of Bangor; a granddaughter, and several nieces and cousins.

The remains are at the Libbey Funeral Home, 61 Center street, Brewer.  Arrangements for the funeral will be announced.
