Obituary
George N. Pond, 68, a well known carpenter, died Friday morning at his home, 199 Forest avenue, following a brief illness. A native of Orrington, he was the son of William S. and Mary Rogers Pond, but lived most of his life in Bangor.
He was a member of Rising Virtue lodge, F. and A.M., the Sons of Union Veterans, and of the First Methodist church of Bangor.
Surviving are his wife, Ellen; a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth White, Hulls Cove; a son, William B. Pond, Pomona, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. O.H. Brown, Orrington; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Pond Funeral Home, 133 Center street, Sunday, at 2 p.m.

Funeral Services
Funeral services for George N. Pond were held yesterday afternoon from the Pond Funeral home with Rev. William R. Wright, pastor of the Bangor First Methodist church, officiating.
Bearers were: Harry Goodwin, Eugene Canty, Clive Wentworth, Ken Karl, Robert Carter, and Henry Chason.
Burial was in the family lot at Dean Hill cemetery in Orrington.
